Our Visit to Mission Motorsport

Chris Chown visits Mission Motorsport to get an update on their amazing charity work:

What Do Mission Motorsport Do?

They are a motorsport charity for the forces. They aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of those affected by military operations by providing opportunities through motorsport and the car industry as a whole.

They have delivered a staggering 900 days of events since 2012 which have benefited over 2000 people. 300 wounded Mission Motorsports beneficiaries have accessed employment successfully.

The Visit – By Chris Chown

I’d met James Cameron of Mission Motorsport years ago, pre Covid before my simulator business (The Race Hut) was forced to close due to the Pandemic.

He and some of his colleagues came to the business and had great fun on our virtual race tracks.

So, with my focus now very much on the charity sector, I made contact and a visit to their HQ was arranged to re-establish contact and to see if we could support them with a donation.

Located within an industrial estate, their premises had branded cars on-site looking suitably impressive.

Inside there were photos of poppy branded cars for the charity’s Race of Remembrance event  and Mission Motorsport branded sports cars.

The main buildings were workshop space, with all the obvious equipment, plus a very impressive viynl wrapping machine for car liveries.

While on site my colleague and I learnt of all the Charity’s plans and what they had been doing since I last saw James Cameron (CEO of the charity). All positive things and some emphasis on businesses too.

However, still at the heart of Mission Motorsport is their slogan “Race. Retrain. Recover”.

With ex service personnel needing a range of support, our charitable trust was more than happy to make a donation to what we believe to be a worthwhile and unique local charity.

If you would like to donate to their amazing cause, you can do so on their justgiving page.
