Running For Good

Running For Good

Fair to say that running the London Marathon is a daunting task for anyone (except the professional runners).

Sure it might be one of the U.K.’s more iconic of sporting charity events (being the second largest annual road race in the U.K. after The Great North Run in Newcastle) and the first Marathon run on 29th March 1981, but people still watch from the comfort of their homes, still in their pyjamas and probably having breakfast… but for those taking part it is an immense task – a proper challenge.

That task has the pressure of running for a charity, and wanting to reach or smash targets – money raised and time run in.

But the support from spectators… family… friends, can only spur participants on when they are struggling.

The charities being run for are so diverse in what they do and who they support, which is great. And as a first for us, this year we supported the daughter of a daughter of old friends of the family.

The charity being run for was Sightsavers and our trust gave £100 in support. Rose ran the marathon in an impressive 3.38.
